Peace of mind for the family: everyday check-in
We are considering a kit that keeps an eye on the everyday routine of your loved ones without them wearing anything. If nobody moves in the morning or the fridge stays closed all day, the family gets a message. Plus a big wall button for the bathroom and bedside. We do not make it yet, demand decides whether we will.
- Works with Home Assistant
- Open source
- No cloud
We do not make this yet. Whether we build it depends on how many people are interested. Leave your e-mail and we will send a single message when it is ready, then delete the address.
Illustration of use. Photos will follow from the first batch.
What the kit would watch
- Morning. Nobody moved in the kitchen or bathroom by a set time.
- All day. The fridge and front door stayed closed although they usually open.
- Bathroom. Light or motion lasts unusually long.
- Temperature. The flat is too cold or too hot, for example an attic flat in summer.
- Button. A big red button on the wall in the bathroom and by the bed. A press sends the family a message.
You set what "usual" means in Home Assistant, based on how your loved one lives. Notifications go to one or more family members.
A complement, not a replacement
A message to the family is not the same as help. The kit tells you it is a good time to call or drop by. It does not decide whether an ambulance is needed and does not promise every message gets through. That is why we see it as a complement to your own care or a professional alarm service, not a replacement.
How it would work
It uses the same Jádro board as the other Plošná ryba products. The button and sensors sit in wall boxes, mains powered with a backup battery. We are considering an LTE head that sends an SMS even when the internet is down. Everything runs in Home Assistant, no cloud and no monthly fees.
Why we ask before we build it
We make small batches and do not want to develop something nobody needs. So we check demand first. If enough people sign up, we start development.

FAQ
Does it replace a personal alarm service with a call centre?
No. Alarm services have a 24/7 call centre, their own SIM and checks that the device works. Our kit only notifies the family and relies on WiFi, Home Assistant and someone noticing the message. When help must be guaranteed, use a professional alarm service.
Why does it not need to be worn?
Pendants and wristbands often stay in a drawer. The kit watches the everyday routine at home, so it works even when nobody thinks about it.
Is it surveillance? What about privacy?
No cameras and no microphones. The sensors only notice that someone moved in a room or a door opened. Data stays at home in Home Assistant. Install it only with the consent of the person who lives there.
Does it detect falls?
We do not promise reliable fall detection. It notices unusual stillness, for example when nobody has moved for a long time or the bathroom light stays on unusually long.
When will it be ready?
There is no date yet. First we make the first batch of our current products. Leave your email and you get one message once we decide.
